I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I've been working in the mental health field since 2009. I opened my private practice in 2018. My focus has been working with children, teens, adults, and families. Many of my referrals come from doctors and pediatricians. I have worked hard in building strong relationships with providers in our community. I work closely with schools in our area, collaborating with staff and supporting in IEPs and 504 meetings. I also work closely with California Victims of Crime and the local D.A. office. I’m proud and passionate about the work I do in helping others find their voice, when at times it may seem impossible to do.
A little bit about me and my family. I moved to the Central Coast in 1986. I grew up in Los Osos and graduated from Morro Bay High School (GO Pirates!). I graduated from Chapman University with my master’s in psychology in 2009. My husband is a retired L.A County Fire Captain. We have a busy, blended family. Currently we are restoring our 115-year-old home, wrangling 12 chickens, 2 doodles and 2 horses.
All people deserve a warm, welcoming space where they can discuss concerns and solve problems. I believe that people develop and thrive in relationships that are built on trust and security. As your therapist, I will follow your lead, highlight your strengths, and collaboratively guide you toward your goals. Your wants and needs will always be my top priority!
I specialize in working with toddlers, preschoolers, high school students, and their parents and families. My educational background includes knowledge around positive and respectful parenting, how to promote secure parent-child attachment relationships, and the challenges and joys that come with the prenatal and postpartum period.
Regardless of age, I believe in the power of play, storytelling, and art to help navigate the highs and lows of life and demonstrate each person’s unique perspective. I will honor and support your connection to your neighborhood, community, and culture. I look forward to working with you and helping you meet your goals.
Life is more enjoyable when we are feeling whole, and connected to the important people in our life. But that is not always our reality. I support individuals working through the emotional turbulence of a variety of mental health concerns, parenting issues, and marriage difficulties. I work from evidence-based approaches with a cognitive behavioral framework mixed with mindfulness, attachment, and family systems thinking to best meet your needs. I have training and 9 years experience working with children, adults and families in several different settings. In addition, I have specialized training in perinatal mental health and couples work. Every experience is unique and personal and deserves to be explored in a compassionate and meaningful way. My goal is to provide you with a space to feel and gain tools so that you can grow, heal and feel whole once again.
My goal is to provide you with a safe and encouraging space to explore, grow, and change. It is my honor to support people in working towards lives of fulfillment and authenticity, utilizing an integrated model of therapy structured around a strengths-based, humanistic approach.
I am happy to work with individuals, couples, families, children, and adolescents through this process.
I believe you have the capacity for healing and growth. Whether you are feeling stuck, isolated, or discouraged, together we can identify your strengths and implement a plan to allow you to move forward towards a life of flourishing, hope, and joy.
